New term - new course, and more

My playwriting course begins work with a new group of writers on Monday September 30th, while on Friday October 4th, fourteen of last year’s group return to continue their course into a second year.

I talk about the course in an article recently published in LANE’S LIST on August 29th, 2019:

"John Retallack runs the Oxford Playwriting course which has recently been extended to include a second year for its students. With a wealth of directorial and writing successes across his own career, here he reflects back on the task of developing new plays on the course." Click here to read more...

If you remember, in the last newsletter I mentioned taking UNICORNS, ALMOST, about the WW2 poet Keith Douglas, to the Edinburgh Festival. I’m delighted to say it was extremely well received and above is a sample of the reviews from Edinburgh and Bristol Old Vic. The play will tour again nationally in 2021 and I will update you all with details nearer the time.
